For this online recording, the following speakers are presenting
Is currently CEO Katana Foundations and a Chartered Structural and Civil Engineer with 30 years of experience in structural design, civil contracting, and screw piling for residential and light commercial sectors.
Bruce is an Engineering Geologist with 35+ years of experience in residential issues. He has had geotechnical companies since the 1980s based in Brisbane later expanding to other states. He has presented papers on AS 2870 to many organizations (both nationally and internationally) and is currently a member of the AS2870-BD25 committee. He is Chair of HEDRA.
Stephen commenced his career in engineering with BHP Steel, Qld Public Works, and has run a private practice Ferm Engineering for 21 years.
For the past 35 years, Stephen has worked in Construction involving Building Services, Fire and Life Safety, Cooling and Ventilation, Control Systems, Fire Protection, Computer modeling and Risk analysis as key elements associated with Mechanical, Electrical and Fire services. His work carries across nearly every division of Engineering and he is a Fellow of Engineers Australia, and registered in 3 NER categories for all states and offers expert assessment to special fire hazards.
Stephen’s time includes volunteer work for education to engineers through membership activities, technical training events and student mentoring programs to ensure Engineering remains a career of choice for generations to come. Education is a big part of his time in business with university students, cadet staff and professional seminars.
Stephen has created FERM Engineering to provide bespoke system designs, efficient service delivery, respect to other professionals and pursue the improvement of the bureaucracy and reduce red tape. Stephen supports many programs to emphasise our role as engineers and our contributions to the community to better protect us all.
